BASIC Information |
|
Before you join CorSec, you should know this basic information. CorSec is a security group, determined to protect the Corellian Sector and all its systems. We maintain a registration database for ships, vehicles, weapons, and all other restricted items. It is our duty to safeguard all citizens under our protection by any means necessary.
If this is right up your alley, it's time to decide which division of CorSec to join. The three divisions are Fleet, TAC, and CSI.
- Fleet scans and protects the skies above. All new pilots start out with an R-41 squadron and can work their way up to Y-Wings or capital ships.
- TAC stands for Tactical Assault Commandos and is CorSec's shock troop and ground/aerial vehicle division.
- CSI -- CorSec Investigations -- is responsible for gathering and interpreting intelligence, both from within CorSec and without.
Once you have decided which division you would like to join, it's time to create your character. If you already have one, you can skip the next section. |

JOINING CorSec |
|
Once you have registered, you will be sent an email with your password anywhere from within an hour to a couple days. Once you have recieved the email, you may now log into the Combine's website: http://www.swcombine.com/.
When logged in, the character menu will appear on the right. In the third category, Manage, is a link called Faction. Click on it and look at the next screen. Near the top is a link called Join Faction. Click it, select CorSec, and submit the form. You are now done!
You will most likely be accepted very shortly, however it may take up to a couple of days for a CorSec commander to log in and approve your request to join. To facilitate this process be sure to include a join reason because we want to make sure that CorSec is the right fit for you. In the mean time, please sign up for the message board.
Once someone from the command staff has accepted you into CorSec, you will receive a message from the High Marshall with instructions asking you to register for the forum.
When you've registered for the forum, have had your account activated
and have been added to the new recruits usergroup, you will see a forum
called pickup and first steps.
Please make a post there and in it you should include such details as what division you want to join, where you are in the galaxy and if you need a pickup or not.
Be sure to visit the New Player FAQ on the official site. It has some basic information about the game such as movement, CP's, and more. |

COMMUNICATIONS Within CorSec |
|
CorSec has a message board set up for its members to use. It is located at http://www.corsechq.net. This is our primary form of communication -- all members must register for the forum.
While we use the forum constantly, it is not the best form of communication for person to person chatting. For this, we use a variety of programs:
- mIRC: A chat program that we sometimes use to hold meetings or to get to know the Imperials working in the Corellian Sector. The Combine's chat room is located on the same server that we use. This program is highly recommended.
- ICQ: A simple instant messenger program that many members use.
- AOL Instant Messenger (AIM): AOL's instant messenger program.
- MSN Messenger: MSN's instant messenger program.
- Yahoo! Messenger: Yahoo's instant messenger program.
If you have any trouble with the joining process, feel free to add a few of the commanders to your lists. Our contact information can be found in the Command Center. | |
